    Position Summary:

    The Billings Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Billing and Collections process. Key tasks are ensuring that claims are accurately submitted so they are not rejected by insurance providers; ensuring that we stay current on all insurance procedures, regulations and requirements to ensure timely payment of claims; ensuring that claims are submitted and collected as soon as possible and providing the CEO, CFO, accounting and operational managers with the reporting needed to manage all billing requirements. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, improve business processes and internal controls related to internal and external support.



    Assure timely and accurate recording and reporting of revenue, billings and accounts receivable collections.

    Directs and coordinates all third party medical billing. 

    Handle and resolve grievances with out-of-network plans.

    Design and implement policies and procedures.

    Create reconciliation procedures and reporting requirements.

    Adapt to changes in the company operating environment.

    Builds relationships with insurance and collections partners increase their productivity.

    Review and audit of intake data to ensure capturing data correctly, documentation of records including Avatar.

    Compliance with all policies and procedures related to payment of accounts including insurance, self-pay, government payors and public funding.



    Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.

    8-10 years supervisory and staff development experience.

    Experience in benefits, admission procedures insurance billing and collections and utilization review.  

    Proven track record of managing effectively with measurable metrics.

    Deep understanding of revenue cycle functional areas.

    Demonstrated ability to build strong, positive internal and external relationships while achieving performance metrics.

    Superior interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

    Practices service-oriented leadership.

    Demonstrated experience collaborating and working cross functionally with corporate departments and operation teams.

    Demonstrated ability to coach and develop direct reports.

    Expert knowledge on all back office functional areas (billing, follow up, cash posting).

    Experience in accounts receivable management and business office operations.

    Healthcare billing experience is desired.
