Overview

To maintain the day to day operations of the facility 24 hours a day and as a leader for the Behavioral Health Technicians.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the day to day operations of the Housing Department are adhered to
  • Write Behavioral Health Technician weekly schedule
  • Work cohesively with all departments for the common purpose of client care and client safety
  • Communicate all BHT concerns to Regional Housing Director
  • Hire, counsel and terminate BHT staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations on BHT staff, 90 day and annual  
  • Maintain the physical residence per Joint Commission and DCF standards
  • Communicate any unsafe or in need of repair conditions of the physical residence to the Regional Housing Director and Maintenance Director
  • Follow all state, federal, Joint Commission and DCF standards
  • Ensure BHT’s are in compliance with all state and federal regulations
  • Work with HR and Compliance directors to ensure BHT HR files are in compliance
  • Stay in constant interaction with Regional Housing Director
  • Available 24 hours per day by phone and on site when needed
  • Organize all client Holiday activities in collaboration with the Program Director

Qualifications

Performance Objectives

  • Maintain required staff levels for client care and client safety  
  • Guarantee required staff training is conducted and collect documentation verifying attendance and completion in accordance with state or regulatory agency regulations.
  • Meet with BHT’s on a daily/weekly/monthly basis; individually and as a department to:
    • Review company policies and procedures and check compliance
    • Assist in obtaining staff’s professional goals
  • Responsible for weekly approving BHT hours worked for payroll
  • Communicate all department needs to the Regional Housing Director; including additional BTH staff, company updates, and the physical client residence
  • Ensure 100% compliance with Life Safety and Environment of Care standards

 

Candidate Profile

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in the substance abuse/mental health care field
  • Ability to communicate clearly to a large group or in an individual setting
  • Basic computer knowledge  
  • Ability to follow through with direct supervisor and direct reports
  • Goal/target-oriented
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to follow direction as instructed and follow through on tasks assigned
  • Possess a positive attitude
  • Remain awake and alert during all working hours

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in Joint Commission and DCF regulations
  • Experience in leadership positions
  • Knowledge of the 12 Steps
